Hundreds of students from around Kentucky gather each spring in Louisville for the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association's Kentucky United Nations Assembly. The event teaches students about world cultures, issues, and governement.
Villa senior Ava Borchers (pictured) served as Secretary General and helped plan and manage the event for nearly 800 students from around the state.Senior Aidan McGraw served as president of the International Court of Justice at the event. The ICJ manages disputes between United Nations members. Senior Sophie Schaeffer served on the conference Media Corps and earned an Outstanding Media award. Freshman Georgia Colvin won an Outstanding Speaker award for her contribution to debate, and freshman Madeline McGuire earned an Outstanding Ambassador award.
