News
Mass Appreciation: Thank you to Fr. Baiju for being here with us today for Mass. Thank you to Ms. O’Connell and her class for planning the Mass and thank you to our students and faculty! The singing was great today, as well as your participation in the prayers. Fr. Baiju commented, as well, so thank you for being present and participating.
Junior High Academic Team Coach Needed: Any parents interested in coaching our Junior High Academic Team, please contact Mrs. McQueen [email protected]
Junior High Parent/Student Sock Hop: Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 27, when junior high students and their parents are invited to a night of fun! Music, dancing, burgers, shakes, and fries. Registration for the event will be sent home this week. Cost is $15/person. Parent volunteers who would like to help with decorations, registrations, etc., please contact Mrs. Rood ([email protected])
Villa Cafe: Our Villa Cafe is open on Monday and Wednesday mornings, so please be sure to stop in and try some of the tasty offerings!
Teacher of the Week: Send your nominations, along with your reason for the nomination, to Mrs. McQueen ([email protected]) or stop in the office. We have such an incredible faculty, and we look forward to honoring them throughout the school year.
Homecoming Tickets: Homecoming tickets will be on sale today during lunch and until Homecoming. Cost is $20.00. Please see Ava Swartz to purchase one. The dance takes place on September 20 at Thomas More University and is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students bringing a student from another school must secure the Guest Permission Form and note the deadline for submission of the form, in addition to requirements for guests. September 12th is the last day to purchase tickets!
Weekly Reminders
September 26 Events: Please note our two big events on September 26. We will dismiss at 2:00 P.M. that day:
- Cardboard Boat Regatta: All are invited to participate in the 2025 Cardboard Boat Regatta during the Senior Sponsored School Picnic. Boats may be made with cardboard and duct tape only. Teams consist of 2-4 individuals, but only two members will crew the boats. Please sign-up outside Mr. Syfert’s classroom - Room 215B. A full set of rules will be available.
- Senior Sponsored School Picnic: On the day of the Regatta we will also be having our annual school picnic. Each class may design a shirt in their class color (12-Red, 11- Orange, 10- Green, 9 - Yellow, 8 - Black, 7 - White). Designs need to be submitted by next Tuesday, September 2, to Madyson Ross for approval. Classes may also design a class flag. More details to follow.
German Exchange: Attention all sophomore and junior: We will be partnering again with our school in Germany, and we are interested in host families for one week in March, beginning on March 13. The students speak English and are top-notch students! They will stay at your house, follow you to class, attend practices/clubs, do homework, and have dinner with you. It is a great experience for both you and the student. We will be working with another Diocesan high school on this endeavor, so please see Mrs. McQueen or Mrs. Zai if you are interested.
Ladies’ Night Out: Back by popular demand - the Girls' Night Out Scavenger Hunt! Join us on September 6 at 6:45PM for a moms, aunts, grandma, friends of Villa, alumni event. Gather your group of up to six teammates and get ready to hunt around Northern Kentucky to find exotic items, answer trivia questions, and complete fun challenges. Tickets are $30/person. Email [email protected] to sign up. This event has sold out in the past, so please reserve your spot early!
Villa Golf Outing: Mark your calendars for the annual VMA Golf Outing on September 22 at 9:00 A.M. All details are on our website and will be sent home, and they can be found in Wednesday’s Villa Week and Friday’s announcements. Thank you for supporting our VMA athletic program.

Meetings
Seventh and Eighth Grade KYA: Seventh and eighth graders interested in joining our delegation to the Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) should plan on attending our first meeting after school today in Room 208. If you have any questions about Middle School KYA, please email Mr. Henson [email protected]
HS Academic Team: The HS Academic Team will have its first meeting on Monday, September 8, from 3-4:00 P.M. Freshman-seniors are eligible to join the team. We would welcome new members to join our core of experienced players. Stop in at the meeting on the 8th or email coach Andrea Bunch [email protected] for more information.

Paying for college 101: Tonight Mr. Ingram is hosting “Paying for College 101” for seniors and their families only. The program starts at 6:30 P.M. in the theatre.

Athletics
Tennis: The Villa tennis coaches will be hosting a double-elimination mixed doubles tournament on Friday, September 5th, right after school. The entry fee is $24/team. Music and snacks will be provided. All proceeds will benefit the tennis program. To sign up or view more details, please use the link in the announcements. The RSVP deadline is Thursday, 09/04. Esports and Bowling: Registration for Fall Esports and Villa’s newest sport - Bowling - is open. Create a FinalForm Account and register. Any questions email [email protected]. Today is the last day to register!!!
Bowling Team Member Needed: We only need one more person to field a bowling team this year. If interested or have questions see Mr. Hesse.
Sept. 6 - Esports Meeting: There will be a team meeting after school on Friday, September 6, in Room 206. Discussion will center on competition schedule and team organization.
Gate and Concession Stand: Gate and concession stand workers are needed. Go to Gate and Concession sign up to sign up.
