HS/JH Service Learning

Villa Madonna Academy is a community on love of God, reverence for others, care for the environment and respect for the individual. The committment to the service of others flows from the foundation of Benedictine values, one of which is service. Service learning intrinsically supports and enhances the mission of our school. Our teachers integrate service learning into the core curriculum.

General Service Guidelines

Villa students are required to earn community service hours by volunteering at a variety of nonprofit groups such as schools, places of worship, charitable organizations, and local service agencies. Villa also provides opportunities throughout the year for students to earn service hours.

Students register with Mobile Serve to track and document their completed service hours. Mobile Serve can be accessed at www.mobileserve.com or through the Mobile Serve App provided to students at the beginning of the school year.

Villa requests that students have hours approved as they are completed by obtaining a supervisor signature within the App or they may send an email to the supervisor via the website or App. All service documentation is due no later than May 1 of each year. Mobile Serve keeps copies of each student’s verified hours as these may be very helpful in completing applications for scholarships and colleges as well as resumes for employment. Students are also encouraged to keep photos of their service learning experiences on the App.
